When ever you see a "type what you see in the box" that is an anti bot technique. Perhaps I am completely out to lunch here.
that operated without need of manual activation- then all the accounts would indeed appear guilty. and someone added an illegal program to it. as the OP states that out of the 7 he can reprimand directly only 2 others.īut, if all the accounts "share" the PP files. We do not know the circumstances, in this instance, of who and how and payment method etc. It is reasonable to think that a computor that is tainted would not allow any PPaccount to be used on it.īut, that does not mean, necessarily, that all the accounts were involved in the crime or that accounts not involved have also been banned. would all suddenly be unable to play on any other PPaccount.!! This would mean computors in schools, libraries, friends homes, offices, relatives homes, visiting guests, hotels, etc. It is not reasonable to assume that any computor the account was played on ever has been tainted as well. "As far as I'm aware, any computer that has been logged into by an account that is later banned has the machine tainted." It was my understanding from reading forums that it is the machine itself that is blocked.Īttempting to open a banned account on another machine- according to hersay here obviously- just gets a banned notice, but, does not disallow a new account from being created on a different computor.Īlthough, unless the machine has been wiped, cleaned and re- processed to rmove the taint said new account cannot be played on the tainted computor either. I have run into people who 'claimed' to have beaten the taint and are playing from the same machine-same location. I do know that there are ways around taints too. sorry if I have the wrong idea about a taint. Of course, not everybody airs their grievances in the forums, and when they do, the other side of the story isn't always given, so who knows. Associated accounts have been banned before, but usually only after a ban evasion attempt, as far as I know. I'm guessing (on the assumption that the OP was truthful) that being a family location, all the accounts showed the same address and credit card, and so were considered to all be the same culprit. I'm guessing there is overwhelming evidence of violation. I haven't heard of associated accounts being banned preemptively, which speaks to the severity of the ban in this case. Nemesis wrote "And by special request - it now auto-bans people who say "pilly" and "lucker"." You may be able to get accounts that don't show direct evidence of involvement and that are owned by other family members unbanned.
OOO should be able to tell you which account(s) show evidence of botting, which should be all that is necessary for you to figure out who actually caused the bans. As far as I'm aware, any computer that has been logged into by an account that is later banned has the machine tainted. It prevents the creation of new accounts from the tainted computer. It simply tells the server that the computer is associated with a banned account in some way. Tainting doesn't work quite like Wildsrose explained in that the taint isn't what prevents you from logging on.
Attempting to log on to any of the accounts using another computer is only likely to taint that computer as well. It would be unlikely that a simple mouse script would be caught unless there were other circumstances involved though.Īs for the person who started this thread, the best thing I can offer is to echo Searmin's comments. Including right clicking on the distilling puzzle continuously to get more basic labor, is it ban-able? Does recording mouse movements = botting? that could also be used to limit certain accounts. I know on xp their are Parental Controls available too. perhaps you can set that up and limit access to PP to certain accounts. I hope each has his own account on your computor. If 7 people use this computor, perhaps it will also say which user the bot was created on.
I would also suspect you will be able to locate the offending add-on and delete it. Thru the forms you submit to plead you could also try requesting which pirate/account the offence was committed on. Or if you use a router or wireless for other putors if they are all affected. If you have access to another computor at another location, try logging on to each account. TaINT MEANS YOUR COMPUTOR HAS BEEN MARKED PERMANENTLY SO THAT NO ACCOUNT -NEW OR OLD- WILL EVER CONNECT TO PP. I do know that when none of the accounts on a specific computor works then the ban is of such a nature as to warrant a 'Taint".
